Check and inspection – remember the annual inspection
Your fall protection equipment must be inspected once a year by a Competent Person trained by the manufacturer or an authorized representative of the manufacturer. At OX-ON, we are certified and offer regular checks and inspections.
An annual inspection includes checking for:
- Lines and bands etc.
- Functionality of locks
- Adjusting devices
- Carabiners
- Fall Arrest Blocks
- Fall arresters
- Sliding locks
The inspection must take place no later than every 12 months. In some industries – for example, the chemical industry – more frequent inspections may be needed. Often the manufacturer has detailed instructions on checks/inspection that must be followed.
